Visitor from the family

This visa permits individuals from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland, as well as family members of EEA or Swiss nationals, to visit the UK to reunite with their relatives or family members who are European nationals.

Eligibility Criteria:

To qualify for a visa to visit the UK, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Relationship Eligibility: You must be a spouse, civil partner, parent, child, sibling, grandparent, grandchild, stepfamily member, or someone in a genuine and lasting relationship akin to marriage or civil partnership for at least two years.
  • Age Requirement: You must be over 18 years old.
  • Visit Duration: Your visit to the UK should not exceed six months.
  • Intention to Leave: You must have the intention to depart the UK before your visa expires.
  • Financial Support: You must demonstrate sufficient funds to sustain yourself and any accompanying individuals during your stay.
  • Non-Transit: Your visit to the UK should not be for transit purposes to a country outside the Common Travel Area.
  • Prohibited Activities: You must assure that you won’t engage in activities such as prolonged residence through frequent or consecutive visits, employment (paid or unpaid), production or provision of goods or services, including sales to the public, studying, marrying or registering a civil partnership, giving notice of marriage or civil partnership, conducting business visitor, sports visitor, or entertainer visitor activities, or receiving private medical treatment.

Child Visitor

This visa enables children residing outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland to visit the UK.

To be eligible for a visit to the UK:

  • You should be under 18 years old.
  • Your visit should not exceed 6 months.
  • You must have plans to depart the UK before your visa expires.
  • You need to demonstrate sufficient financial means to support yourself and any accompanying individuals.
  • Your visit should not involve transit to a country outside the ‘Common Travel Area’.
  • Adequate arrangements for your care and reception in the UK must be made in accordance with government guidelines.
  • You must have at least one parent in your home country who can provide consent for your arrangements in the UK.
  • You must prove that you won’t engage in activities such as residing in the UK for extended periods through frequent visits, taking paid or unpaid employment, producing goods or providing services, studying, marrying or registering a civil partnership, carrying out business visitor, sports visitor, or entertainer visitor activities, or receiving private medical treatment.
